Girbau has been registered within the Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme
During the month of February, Girbau has received official notification of its inclusion within the Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). The objective of the Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is to promote continual improvements to the environmental consciousness of all European organizations and the distribution of pertinent information to the public and to other interested parties.
Registration within the EMAS scheme has been achieved as a result of the company’s full compliance with the 761/2001 Ruling of the European Parliament and Council on behalf of the Girbau production centres in Vic.
The stipulations required in order to be included in the EMAS scheme include: the adoption of environmental policies; an environmental analysis of its activities, products and services; the application of an environmental management system; regular submission to an audit and formulation of an environmental statement; the registration of said document with the official body and subsequently made available to the public.
In order to maintain membership within the EMAS scheme, Girbau will have to demonstrate its full compliance to all these demands every 3 years. THE ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT FROM GIRBAU WILL BE UPDATED ON THE WEB
The Environmental Statement from Girbau collates extensive information with regard to all environmental aspects of the Girbau factories in Vic.
The objective of the statement is to make information ready available and easily accessible to the public with regard to Girbau´s activities and their effect upon the environment. For this reason, the information will shortly be made available on the website in different languages.
The statement includes: a summary of the activities and products of Girbau; its environmental policy and a brief description of the eco-management system; the description of all the significant environmental aspects; the environmental objectives of Girbau and information on the company’s activities with respect to environmental legislation.
The data of the Environmental Statement will be updated annually on the website. |
